Hurricane Season hits Minnesota

Wind. Wind. More wind. I am so tired of wind. I think they should change the name of Minnesota to "Land of 10,000 Lakes and Gale Force Winds". Appropriate don't you think? It seems we can't have a day without wind. My poor sweet corn is getting pommelled.

Kurt is finally done with planting. Yippee! Now we just need a little gentle rain to water everything. Chances are in this country we'll get hail and wind with it. Rosco dug a big hole in my garden the other day. Right where my dahlias are planted. He is really pushing his luck. I think I am going to plant some more flowers this week sometime. I also want to plant radishes. Yummmm.

I think the ditch asparagus is almost done now. It was good while it lasted. Delicious. Bennett ate 3 helpings at dinner on Sunday and his diaper stunk terrible. That made me gag. Hope he learns to go on the toilet soon. Stubborn little guy.

Anyhow, time for me to go play with Bennett. Have a good one.

3 months!

Only 3 months left until we get to meet this little baby. It will go fast. It seems that the warm weather is finally here to stay. My sweet corn is up and has a good start. I am ready to eat it right now but I will patiently wait. Planted some cannas and dahlias and zinnias in my garden too. Now if only the dog will stay out. I see once again gas prices are jumping. Wish my paycheck jumped too. How does that all figure out? It doesn't. Period. The gas companies really rake it in and the little people suffer for their luxury. End of story.

Spring - where are you?

Snow! April 12 and we have tons of snow again. Sickening. When will spring get here officially? I think my tulips and other flowers are frozen. That makes me angry. They were growing so nice before this evil weather. Bah!

18 weeks left until the baby! Wahoo! We can't wait to meet her! We found out at our ultrasound that it is a girl. Bennett knew all along! They say kids have a sense about these things...

Kurt has been done with lambing for awhile and has now moved on to calving. It has been going ok but the weather puts a lot of stress on him. I hope it warms up and dries up soon.
