Trying to stay positive in a negative world
I have been letting this world get me down. I need to let other people's problems be just that... THEIR problems. Look on the bright side and see the glass half full. Be grateful for the little things. Realize how blessed I truly am. My family is healthy. We love each other beyond words. I have food to eat. I have running water. Enough said.

I found a travel coffee mug in my cupboard the other day I had forgotten about. I purchased it when I was on a college outing. It has a beautiful saying and I wanted to share it.

This is the beginning of a new day. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good.

Proverbs 15:1
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Our home has become plagued with shouting lately. Parents and children alike. I decided the other day to teach my 4 year old this proverb. Little did I know he would turn around and use it against me. This evening after a bout of yelling at him, he said, "Mom, remember what you taught me on the computer?" How humbling. Out of the mouths of babes...
