Long Lovely Locks

It seems to me that other people's hair grows faster than mine. How can I fix this problem? I love having long hair. But every once in awhile, I cut it off because it has so many split ends. Then it takes forever to grow it back out. Then it gets split ends again. And so continues the viscious cycle. Frustration.

Tonight I am hoping to put up my new screened in gazebo. I got it on clearance! Yeah baby! Those bugs can't get me now!

Glorious

This past weekend we went camping to Hendricks, MN with my family. I just love having nothing to do and nowhere to go for a few days. We got there Thursday evening just in time to make "pudgy pies" in the campfire. Mine was pizza. I could live off pizza. Yum. Then Friday was a dreary, misty day so we stayed inside most of the day except for a shopping excursion to a thrift store where I spent some time looking at useless but interesting items. If anyone is looking for old Avon perfume bottles, go to the thrift store in Hendricks. They have a plethora of them. Saturday afternoon we tubed behind the boat. My neck is still sore. That evening we had a little campfire again. More "pudgy pies". Pizza of course. Sunday morning we tubed again on an insanely rough lake. Anita somehow convinced us to do it. How I don't know. But it was fun and I am only a bit sore from that excursion. I did take a shoulder and a butt to the chin from Anita. Luckily my tongue was hiding in the back of my mouth at the time. Otherwise it would have been painful.

Bennett was super during the camping trip. He loved playing outside with his cousins the whole time. Only a few fights. But now he has a cold from one of them. Too much close contact I guess. Oh well.

Sunday evening we went to Sibley, IA for a picnic with Kurt's mom's family. It was great fun and great food. However, I was too tired to fully enjoy it. Got to meet Kurt's cousin whom I have never met before. Found a walnut for Bennett to play with. Ate a couple brownies to curb my chocolate craving. Yum.

Yesterday I mowed lawn all afternoon. I did take a break inbetween to help Kris try to record some movies onto DVD. Found out after she left that the record speed had defaulted back to SP instead of EP so we only got half the movie on the one disc. I continued it on another DVD though so she will have it all. Hopefully tonight we can figure out how to get the other movies done. So, until next time.

Turn The Radio Up

Today at work I found a new streaming radio station of Christian music. It's great. Right now I am listening to a guy talk but the music has been really uplifting.

Sunday we had Bennett's birthday party. Can't believe he is 2 already. Where has the time gone? He got 2 tractors, a wagon, and a bulldozer. Also 2 books. He was really excited about it all. We are patiently awaiting a package from Katie for him also. Kurt's mom made a cake shaped like a train. Really neat. I only had one candle for the cake (which was leftover from last year's birthday party - how sad is that) so we put a matchstick on for the other candle. Redneck birthday candles. LOL. I put candles on my shopping list so this doesn't happen next year.

Saturday morning I got to watch a caterpillar go into it's cocoon. That was the most amazing thing I have seen for awhile. God creates such beautiful things for us to enjoy if we will only stop and look. I got another caterpillar and am hoping to either videotape it or take pictures of it going into the cocoon this time. Should be about a week before the monarch comes out. We are going camping this weekend so I will have to take the jar with. Then we can release the butterfly. Bennett is curious about the whole process.

We only have around a week left with Kris before she leaves so hopefully we can do lots of stuff together. Bennett will be 4 years old before she is back with us. Sad thought. But I plan to keep showing him pictures of her and telling him about things she is doing. May God bless her as she becomes a missionary for 2 years.

Well, I'm off now. Later.

Today is the day!

Finally. Today Kurt comes home. I think this is the longest we have been apart since we got married. It will be great to see him again. Bennett is going to scream "Daddy!" And I know Kurt is going to be busy talking to him for a long time. Bennett will have lots of stuff to tell daddy. Hopefully he won't be going away again for a long time.

I put Rosco's collar on him this week and he does not like it. He keeps scratching it, but he's not gonna get that sucker off. Ha ha! He will just have to adjust to it. Also put his Frontline on last night so he doesn't get any fleas or ticks. That was real easy to do...NOT. You have to put it between their shoulderblades on their skin. Trying to get a puppy to sit still so you can part his hair between his shoulderblades and squeeze a tube of liquid at the same time is interesting to say the least. He kept trying to bite me with his razor sharp baby teeth. I think it's about time he loses those and gets the adult teeth. Maybe I shall pull them out myself.

Tomorrow we have another wedding. And a dance! Since I didn't get to go to the last dance, I plan to get my groove on at this one. YEAH!

Here we are again

It has been awhile since I last posted, mainly because I have been gone a lot. Went to the cities this weekend to bring Kurt to the airport so he could fly to Florida and help his sister Kris move her stuff back here. He made it safely there. Now let's just hope they make it back up here driving a car packed full of stuff. I pray for their safety every time I think of them. Bennett is not very happy about daddy being gone for awhile. But he will be sooo happy when Kurt gets home. That will melt my heart. So for now, I am a single parent until Friday. I'll keep plenty busy with that. But alas, my job waits for me. So now I must bid you adieu, my dear friends.
