The Essence of a New Day

I found a travel coffee mug in my cupboard the other day I had forgotten about. I purchased it when I was on a college outing. It has a beautiful saying and I wanted to share it.

This is the beginning of a new day. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good.

Our home has become plagued with shouting lately. Parents and children alike. I decided the other day to teach my 4 year old this proverb. Little did I know he would turn around and use it against me. This evening after a bout of yelling at him, he said, "Mom, remember what you taught me on the computer?" How humbling. Out of the mouths of babes...

Mannequin!

I just bought the movies Mannequin and Mannequin 2. Can't wait to watch them! They are a couple of my faves! Now I just have to find the time.
It is shocking how much the snow has melted this past week or so. There is nothing left of our poor snowman. I am sure we will have more snow before winter is over. I don't mind playing with Bennett in the snow but Brooklyn just doesn't really enjoy it.

February already?

Wow. Time flies as I get older. It is hard to believe January is gone and February is here. That just means it is closer to spring! Yesss! I love it when my flowers start emerging from the snow. I am hoping to have a large garden this year. Bennett and Brooklyn should be able to help with planting and weeding. They both love the outdoors! If only our dog would stay out and quit digging! Naughty Rosco! Yesterday I tried a new recipe for white chocolate pound cake... it was delicious! I will have to give that one 5 stars!
